Celina Nowak is an experienced criminal law academic researcher, lecturer and consultant. She holds a PhD in law, as well as a diploma of postgraduate studies of Université de Paris I – Panthéon – Sorbonne, in criminal law and criminal policy in Europe. Her PhD dissertation focused on criminalization of corruption in national, international and EU law. She works as an assistant professor in the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Kozminski University, combining her research activities with teaching criminal law. She has published articles and taken part in a research project devoted to alternatives to detention, modifications of imprisonment and prison overcrowding in Poland. Currently she analyzes the process of internationalization of criminal law, she has just published a book on this topic. She took part in various projects on comparative law, in the international and European Union context. She was a national expert, responsible for drafting national reports in several comparative law and consultancy projects funded by the European Union. She has authored two monographs, edited and co-edited eight books. She has written more than three dozens articles and chapters in books, in Polish, English and French, published in Poland and internationally. |
